Where Friendships Grow and Community Thrives
Whether you want to stay active, meet new people, or give back to the community you love, Benton Senior Center is a welcoming place where adults 60 and older come together to make every day more meaningful.
A Community That Feels Just Like Home
Start your morning with coffee and conversation. Share lunch with friends. Discover new experiences through trips, guest speakers, and activities. Find opportunities to volunteer, learn something new, and make a difference. At Benton Senior Center, you’ll find more than a place to spend the day– you’ll find a community that’s glad you’re here.
More Than a Senior Center
No two days are exactly alike, but every morning starts with friendly faces, fresh coffee, and a chance to get moving.
Community Involvement
Our community outreach is a big part of our center. We’ve helped Benton schools, local food banks, thrift stores and we’re always looking for more ways to help.
Monthly Trips
Our members get to try new things like a picnic at the park, lunch at the lake, or a booth at the Bloomsburg Fair. It’s a nice way to spend time outside the center.
Sit & Fit class
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, they can also attend the Northern Columbia Community & Cultural Center Sit & Fit class at no cost.
Monthly Guests
Throughout the month, guest speakers share everything from fun hobbies to educational topics like CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and American Sign Language.
Lunchtime
Lunch is by donation and catered each day at 11:30am. Meals are ordered the day before, giving everyone another reason to gather together.
Trips & Special Events– Because Adventure Is Better Together
We try to plan at least one special outing or event every month, giving members plenty of reasons to get out, try something different and spend time together beyond the center.
Recent and upcoming activities include a summer day trip to Camp Ladore, a picnic at Worlds End State Park, lunch at Grotto Pizza near Harveys Lake, a Benton Senior Center booth at the Bloomsburg Fair with handmade items, vintage finds, and baked goods, and a bus trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in New Jersey. More trips and special events are added throughout the year, so there’s almost always something new on the calendar.
Giving Back Is Part of Who We Are
Our community outreach is a big part of what makes Benton Senior Center more than a place to spend the day. Our members stay involved in Benton and look for ways to support the people and organizations around us.
We’ve partnered with Benton Middle and High School, including donating 15 ukuleles along with drums and other percussion instruments for students. Many of our members also volunteer with the Benton Food Bank and the Do Drop In thrift store, which supports the Benton Community Center, also known as N4Cs.
And we’re not finished. We plan to expand our community involvement with even more projects and partnerships in the coming year.

Your support helps us continue offering meaningful activities, expand outreach between generations, and create even more opportunities for older adults to stay active, connected, and involved.
